Happy Halloween!

I think they rang the doorbell and knocked a thousand times on each door!

Halloween party....Adam and I were morning people...I know...LAME...but it was free.

Pirate from the aquarium

Shooting webs at me.

Still shooting webs. I couldn't get a picture of him without his hands up shooting webs.

Asher was Spiderman for Halloween this year. Surprise surprise right?! His obsession has yet to die but now I think we could be moving on to transformers. We'll see. Anyways, Halloween was super fun this year. He was into every aspect of it. He was looking forward to trick-or-treating for weeks. Being that I had to spend $30 on a costume, I was looking for every opportunity for him to wear it. SO...Wednesday night we dressed him up and took him to the aquarium. They always have a huge Halloween event. The theme this year was pirates and mermaids. It was a lot of fun! Asher got TONS of candy and saw a pirate scuba dive with the fish. We started our Halloween day off early with a Halloween party at some friend's house. The kids and the parents dressed up. Very funny! The kids played games and ate Halloween cupcakes. And the finale, TRICK-OR-TREATING!! Asher loved it!!! Our friends came over and we just went around our neighborhood. Asher, of course, had to be the first one to the door. It was a race every time. After a few house, Asher decides to stop saying "trick-or-treat" and started saying "we need candy!" UGHHH!!! Also, while all the other kids stood on the porch, Asher would walk into the house. One time, in his race to be first, he got to the door of another house and opened it and just walked on in. No knock, no doorbell, NOTHING!! The lady was very sweet about it. Maybe next year I should work with him on proper Halloween etiquette.

Pumpkin Patch

Hay ride.

I just love this picture. Look at that huge smile on Asher's face. I know he's thinking he's real lucky!

Yee-haw!

Mean pigs!

Seriously?! Free to roam?!

This guy was really hungry. After this picture he stole the bag right out of Adam's hand.

What a cutie! :-)

We have an awesome pumpkin patch in Tulsa. We have gone two years in a row and Asher absolutely loves it!! This Sunday, we went back with our community group from church. Besides climbing on top of all the pumpkins, I think Asher's favorite part is all the animals. You can buy feed and feed goats, sheep, and pigs. However, I would not recommend feeding the pigs. The goats and sheep very kindly lick the feed off your hand...but the pigs...not so nice. One bit Asher's fingers and caused a cry fest for about five minutes. I don't blame him though...I'm sure it really hurt. Besides feeding the animals, Asher rode a pony and a camel. The whole group went on a hay ride and the men raced through a corn maze. I think they were excepting a big manly competition but they came out extremely disappointed. Apparently, the finish line was right next to the entrance. As for me, well I just try not to have a heart attack while I'm there. Anyone who knows me knows that I despise birds! This place has chickens that just freely roam around. UGHHHH!!!! They also have a pen in the middle with huge turkeys in there. It would be my luck that one would escape the pen while I'm there. The thought seriously makes my heart pound!! So I walk around the whole time looking over my shoulder hoping that some evil bird isn't following me.

Being sick :(

So I'm sick today and it's not fun. I woke up with a cough yesterday that I thought came from all the yelling I did at the U2 concert I went to on Sunday night (which was amazing by the way) but the cough just lingered and lingered. Today I'm running fever and just feel really ran down. I swear I'm not trying to be a big baby about being sick but to make matters worse, Adam is out of town all week. AND my usual helper, my mom, is sick too!! So my poor dad came all the way to Tulsa to keep Asher for me. They are staying at a hotel tonight and have just been running around all day doing boy things. :) Again, I promise I'm not trying to be a baby. I would really muster up the energy to take care of Asher while being sick but truth be told, I'm so scared to be around him. I don't know about anyone else but this whole swine flu thing has me freaked out!! Especially for my little boy. There are so many different stories out there right now and I'm so scared for Asher to get it. Some people say oh it's a mild cold and others say it's terrible with 104 fever. Some people say absolutely do not vaccinate and other say it's dumb not to. I just don't know what to do!!! So all of this to say that my sweet dad is keeping Asher away from me....and now I'm terribly lonely! :(

Happy 3rd birthday!!

Birthday boy and daddy at the zoo. It was hot!

He loves the petting zoo. He loved that specific goat for some reason. Followed it around the whole time. I had to tell him not to kiss it...that's gross!

Fear the Stache! Asher says he has a "dirty mustache just like Boom!"

Yea!!

Look at that huge smile!!

Spiderman and the kids

Spiderman, Asher, and Zach

Spidey himself!

Pinata time! Sorry for the sugar rush parents!

Cruisin the rides

Asher's new ride.

My little boy is 3!! WOW!! It really does go by so fast. I'm trying to remember everything I can about his little life but it seems like his life is moving faster than my brain works! He is just so much fun right now. He hasn't even been 3 for a week yet but I'm loving this age. He's so funny!! This year was the first year that he was so excited to have a party. We have been talking about this party, planning this party, buying things for this party for over a month now. Every week he would say, "My friends come to my party this weekend?" And I would have to say, "Not this week." SO when the time finally came....man he was excited!! We had a spiderman birthday party in our backyard. He had tons of friends there and the real Spiderman made an appearance. Asher loved it!!! Spiderman's strength was really put to the test by three little boys. I think the cutest part of the whole party was singing happy birthday to him. He just smiled and laughed the entire time! Definitely melted my heart! After the party, my family stayed with us and we just played with toys and watched football. We had his party on Saturday but his real birthday was Sunday. Of course we had to celebrate the real birthday so we went to church and then headed straight out to the zoo. After the zoo, we played outside until the sun went down. We ended the birthday weekend by singing happy birthday as our good night song. Of course he was so excited that we had to sing it again! I love you Asher man and I thank God everyday for 3 amazing years with you. I'm so lucky!

BOOMER SOONER!!

Ok I think this family is completely converted to the Boomer Sooners. Yes, we are now members of the Sooner Nation!! We have unexpectedly been able to see Landry, aka Uncle Boom, start in two games. We are so proud of him!! He has been amazing and we love watching him play. Here are some pictures from our fun weekend.

Asher preparing for the big game, uniform and all.

Landry, doing what he does.

Landry on the big screen....so weird to see my little brother like this.

Asher and Wa-Wa-Britney at the game.

Yeah!!

Good news...I heard from the camera lady and my camera is finally ready. Now I can download all of my summer pictures. I will probably be blogging about things that happened months ago, but will that really be any different from what I do now? haha. Ok so in the meantime, I have been trying to write down some of the funny things Asher tells. He's sooo funny now. I try to remember them all but he'll say things at random times and I don't have time to write them all down. I try really hard to remember them all because these are memories that I want forever! Here's a quick list:

-We say our prayers together every night as a family. Asher's prayers are always very detailed. The other night it went like this..."Dear Dod (God)...thank you for my puppies and the fence that shocks them and that Cashy gets shocked...Amen." (we had to put an inground electric fence in our yard. we are not mean dog people...I promise but this is the only way we can keep them from tearing up our fence. I blogged about this problem earier.)

-We took the dogs for a walk the other day and I was walking June and Asher was walking cash. Asher: "Mom, Cash is freakin me out back here!" Me: "Why?" Asher: "He's just walkin real funny!" Not sure what Cash was doing different but it was "freakin" him out.

-I was taking him to Adam's work the other day so he could have lunch with his daddy. He yawned real big in the backseat. Me: "Oh no Ash, are you tired?" Asher: "No I just yawned." Me: "Do you need a nap?" Asher: "Yeah, I think I take one at work. Do they have a sleepin bag or something for me?" Hummmm.....do you take nap at work? Is that allowed?

-Talking about Uncle Boom's (Landry) truck. Asher: "Boom's truck is realllllll fast! It really bumpy too!" I don't remember my reply but whatever it was Asher said, "Ohhhhhhh Holy Cow!!! You need to pank his hiney!!" I seriously have no idea where he learned Holy Cow. Surely I don't say that anymore?!

There are just some of the funny stories that little boy has told me lately. I love him sooooo much and I'm sooooo glad I'm his mommy!!!

DANG IT!!!!!!

Sad times guys!!!! My camera broke!!!!! That's why I haven't blogged. I can't upload my pictures. My screen broke and I can't turn my camera on. UGHHH!!!!! I have so many cute summer pics on it. I'm gonna get it fixed...just hope it doesn't cost as much to fix it as it would to just buy a new one. Anyways...I'm super bummed out but I'm gonna work on getting those pictures because I have some good stories to tell.

Here's one funny story though, (while I'm thinking about it...)

Here's proof that Asher is definitely Adam's son... Asher LOVES music and he likes to listen to it loudly. He always tells me to turn it up. Most of the time it's Vegitales, Dr. Joan, or other kid music playing in the car but every once in a while I have to have a change in tunes. Just for my sanity. So the other we are driving along and I decide to plug in the ipod. I'm flipping through songs and Asher would say "No this one boring song" or he would bob his head try to sing along. I'm listening to some Red Hot Chili Peppers and Asher says, "No this boring...I want JOHNNY CASH!" What?!!!!! For some weird reason Asher finds Red Hot Chili Peppers boring and thinks Johnny Cash is the best singer ever. Adam - you have seriously brain washed this kid!!

Mt. Rainier

This is the base of the mountain. This is the visability they had when they started climbing.

I dont know if that's fog or cloud.

They are above the clouds now.

This area was on their path to the top. I don't know if you can see it, but there's an area of rocks that kept falling all day long, right across their path.

I love this picture. It's so beautiful. I love admiring the beauty that God created. This is a view that I will probably never see personally so I just love looking at this picture. We really have an amazing God!
There's so much more to these photos and Adam has stories for each one, but he would never post about them. Sorry you had to get the explanation from me!

Swimming

Ok first, I want you all to be impressed with my posting. This is 4 in one month!!! I know, it's even surprising me. Anyways, I think I have a fish for a son. I should probably change his name to Nemo. We live in the pool. It's wonderful since the weather here is almost unbearable. I'm so used to dry 105 degree heat. This humidity kills me so the pool is my lifesaver and it's Asher's favorite thing to do. We usually go twice a day. The nicest thing about it is that Asher is really swimming now. He recently graduated from ISR, a survival class for infants. It was such an amazing experience. He doesn't know the exact strokes, but he swims with his face in the water and rolls to his back to float when he's tired. He can swim all the way across the pool! Of course, we still stay in the water with him and help him when he needs it but the course was a serious lifesaver. Asher has NO FEAR!!!! He thinks nothing of jumping off the side and just going for it. My biggest fear was him falling in the water without floaties and thinking that he would just be able to float. Now he knows how. It's awesome! If anyone has kids who are fearless around water then this class is totally for you. Here are some pictures of Asher on his last day. They practice swimming fully clothed so that they will know what to do if they fell into a pool with clothes on.

Traveling

I love vacations! I really love vacations! BUT I HATE THE TRAVELING DAYS!!!! You know, the day to travel to where you are going and the day to travel home. Those days are FOREVER long and draining. Yesterday we flew back from Seattle (more on this trip later) and ran into that huge storm in Dallas. Well, we didn't actually fly into it but it was definitely affecting our flight. We made it to Albuquerque and we were supposed to just touch down, pick up more people, and take off again. We got stuck. The airport in Dallas was shut down. No one could fly in or out. So we sat on the plane and just waited until we got word that the storm had passed and we could fly to Dallas. That was torture. I wanted to get home to Asher sooo bad! All I wanted to do was jump off that plane and find another way back to Tulsa. However, the airport opened back up and we took off. When we got to Dallas, it was mass chaos in the airport. People had been stuck there all day. The stand-by line was over 100 people long. The bathroom lines (in every bathroom) where coming out the doors and going down the halls. People with babies and little kids where everywhere. Talk about stress!!!!! There was a lady flying alone with two kids and the youngest one was having a huge breakdown. Nothing the lady did made her feel better. My heart broke for both the mama and the little girl. There's nothing worse than being stuck in a place with no where to go. Needless to say, they made their plane and we made ours. I loved touching down in Tulsa just knowing that my sweet little boy was waiting at home for me. (Thanks mom and dad for watching him for us.) Anways, just wanted to say that I had a great time on vacation but I hate the traveling part. I'm really dreading the long flight I have coming up in a few weeks. I'm gonna start praying about it right now!!!

This is for you Ash...

This post is for my friend Ashlie. We have talked many times about dogs. Her little boy, Gentry would love a dog. We have two dogs so I have many stories to share with her. First thing, I love my dogs. I really do...BUT.... man they are a lot of work!! They have become very difficult lately. They have recently decided that they hate the rain. We live in Tulsa!!! You CAN NOT hate the rain!! It's like moving to Colorado when you hate the snow. We recently had a really long period of rain. I'm talking like everyday. SO...destruction! That's all I can say. We had to repair the backyard fence 3 times in one week. It's not like they don't have protection from the rain. They do. We have a covered porch and their dog house is on the porch. I also usually let them come inside but they literally give you two seconds to get them inside before they starting tearing a hole in the fence. One thunder and their gone. They have it down to a science. It doesn't take them long to tear a huge hole. Oh they are such babies! Not only was my fence destroyed but it also destroyed my house. I daily had to let muddy dogs into my house. My carpet is in horrible shape. I don't know what I'm gonna do with them! Sometimes I wish that an older couple who loves animals and treats them like children would come to my house and ask if I would sell my dogs to them. I think part of me would jump on that offer but the other part knows that my little boy would kill me. Oh life with dogs!

Ok Ash, these pics are for you.

I'M BACK!!!

Ok, I'm not gonna type again about being a bad blogger. You guys already know this but this time I have an excuse. My computer was not letting me upload pictures. It messed up everytime!! I finally got it to work and then my camera died. Today I got all my bases covered and finally uploaded all my pictures. I think I have some good stories to tell. Before I go on to my Asher posting, I'm gonna do a husband post first. PLEASE PLEASE pray for Adam this weekend. He is on his way to climb Mt. Rainier. I didn't think much about this at first, but then I found out that Mt. Rainier isn't like the ordinary mountain climb. It's a glacier. Yes, glacier. Maybe I should have known that but I didn't. He needed cramp-ons (shoe things with spikes on the bottom), ice axes, a sleeping bag that will go down to -20 degrees, crazy things like that. It has me a little worried but I know it's completely safe. People make this climb everyday. But still pray for him please. I think it's weird the desires that God gives men. God definitely knew when he created humans what he was doing making men and women so different. I guess men can admire God's creation from on top of a mountain and women can admire something different lying on a beach. haha. That's my idea of an adventure!

Adam- I hope you have a great time! I miss you already! (he's only been gone 2 hours...pathetic, right?!)

Spidey-panda

We took Asher to the Build-a-Bear workshop the other day. (ok it was like a month ago...again bad blogger.) He had so much fun. He couldnt decide what animal to chose. They really have ton of choices. But he finally decided on a panda, just like Kung-fu Panda. He helped the lady stuff the bear and then he gave it a bath. He brushed his fur and then picked out the clothes. Like I said, he is in love with super heros and there were a bunch of super hero outfits. There was a Batman one but this time he chose Spiderman. We asked him what the bears name was and he said, "Spidey-panda." It was super cute. We will definitely have to do that again!

Catch up

Ok I would say that I'm sorry for not blogging in the last month but you guys already know that I'm a bad blogger. I'll be playing catch up for quite a while. In my defense though, Asher has been taking naps in his sleeping bag and not in his bed. This requires me to lay down with him and that really cuts into my computer time. Sorry! Ok so to start...Asher has really started to love super heros. I dont know why. I dont let him watch those cartoons because sometimes I think they are really advanced and sometimes just really violent. But he has picked up this love somewhere. It must just be born in boys. His favorite is Batman. We found Batman pj's at Walmart and he LOVES them. He would wear them everywhere if I let him but luckily I can destract him long enough to throw on other clothes before we go out. Although I know these are pj's but they really scare me. I don't like the thought of him sleeping with the cape on. It could strangle him right? He's very good about taking off the cape so he can sleep but that it the only time the cape can come off or be covered, which meant no wearing jackets over the Batman cape. Here are some pics of my favorite little Batman.

Mootie Time!!

Asher and Adam loves smoothies. I'm not a huge smoothie drinker so this is totally a Asher and Daddy time. Asher loves it!! He eats his dinner and then he asks for a "Mootie". He knows where everything is and is a huge help. He drags out the blender and puts it on top of the counter. This part is very scary. I'm so afraid that he is going to drop it and shatter glass everywhere but...this is a part of it. He gets it out and then says, "Whooo that heavy!!" Then he helps Adam get all the fruit from the freezer. This is actually a great learning experience because Adam makes him count out all the fruit. 4 strawberries, 2 scoops of yogurt, etc. After it's all done, they sit on the couch and drink up!!

Will Somebody Please Give the Kid a Haircut?

We got this phrase a lot there awhile. Asher desperately needed a haircut. We wanted to grow it out but it just started from a very bad point. He received a horrible haircut back in December. The girl combed every single hair on his head forward and started cutting. Now I'm not a hair dresser but I could quickly tell that this one wasnt turning out very good. Naturally, the front was much shorter than the back. MUCH SHORTER. It didn't look that bad at first but then it started growing and every day it was more noticeable. But we decided that we would let it keep growing and we would see what happened. Oh Poor Asher! The long back part of his hair started curling. It formed ONE big roll like I curled it was a curling iron. The front looked cute - nice and shaggy. But the back!!! There was nothing I could do to control it. I sprayed it with water, hairspray, etc. It just would not go down. It stuck up from the second he got his hair washed. Needless to say, we broke down and got him a haircut. He looks much better but I think the back part of his hair is just trained to stick straight up. Oh well, at least people don't think that I curl it.

Pics are pre-haircut. Just wanted you to see the "stickup" and also Adam should learn to just smile for me when I tell him to take a picture or else I will have to keep posting picture like this of him.
